The Majestic Bahubali Sets

There’s no doubt that Bahubali and its sequel, released in 2015 and 2017 respectively, are among the most celebrated and successful movies in the history of Indian cinema. Songs, dance, romance, betrayal, revenge, drama, and action, this two-part Indian epic movie directed by S.S. Rajamouli has it all. While every aspect of the movie is fabulous, one thing stands out from the rest – the mythical kingdom of Mahishmathi. With grand palaces and colossal walls featuring elements of ancient Indian architecture, the kingdom is a saga of grandeur, to say the least.

How about taking a trip through Mahishmathi and reminisce about your favorite scenes from the movie? Just imagine how it would feel to walk into the humongous palace court where the coronation of Amarendra Bahubali was planned and later, his rival Bhallala Deva was crowned. Or, would you prefer taking a look at the underground iron cage where Devasena was kept imprisoned for 25 years? Or how about marveling at the gigantic statute of Bhallala Deva or reenacting the bull fight sequence? You can now do all these and more at the Bahubali sets at Ramoji Film City.

Today, it is one of the top tourist attractions at Ramoji Film City and appeals to movie lovers of all ages.

Adding to the beauty of the majestic sets are the props that have been used in the movie. Wouldn’t it be nice to sit on the golden throne shown in the movie and get your selfie clicked? The Larger than Life Sarileru Neekevvaru Sets

Kondareddy Buruju Fort aka Konda Reddy Fort is an imposing structure and one of the most prominent landmarks in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. It has also served as the shooting location for some Telugu movies, the most popular of them being Okkadu. The fight scene involving Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj from this 2003 blockbuster is still etched in the memory of fans. Now after 16 years, Mahesh Babu has again shot a fight sequence at the same fort for another movie, namely Sarileru Neekevvaru. The only difference is that this time the fort was recreated at Ramoji Film City.

Yes, you heard it right! The makers of Sarileru Neekevvaru have ‘brought’ the fort to the film studio by creating a magnificent replica of it at a cost of about 4 crores. For the fans of Tollywood, this is an excellent opportunity to visit the spectacular set and relive the moments from the movie which was released in January 2020 and is still running houseful in many cinemas across the country.
